Introducing the new Spotify Web Playback SDK! It brings one of the most requested features from the developer community, playing music in the web, to our offerings.

You now have access to the same technology that enables music lovers to listen to Spotify through our Web Player. It is a beta release, so there may be changes to the SDK - we’re going to make changes based on the feedback that you and the rest of the developer community share with us.

Here’s how quick it is to get started:

<script src=""></script>
<script> window.onSpotifyWebPlaybackSDKReady = () => {
  new Spotify.Player({
    name: "Hello world!",
    getOAuthToken: cb => { cb("[access token here]"); }
}; </script>

We have also updated the Developer Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using our developer platform. This update is meant to ensure that you have a better understanding of the rules around our platform and how you can build cool stuff with our developer tools.

We really can’t wait to see what the new exciting possibilities the Web Playback SDK opens for developers, artists, and music lovers all over the world!

Happy hacking!
