Embeds

Add audio to your own website.

Embeds help you share interactive content from Spotify on a website that you control. Using an Embed, you can add a podcast, an album, or other audio content to your website that your users can listen to. It's a great way to promote your music, share your new podcast episodes with fans, or highlight your favorite album or playlist.

Getting started

You can create a simple Embed by copying a few lines of HTML and dropping it into a web page that you control. The Embed will give your website's users a window into a piece of Spotify content that you'd like to highlight.

Embeds are interactive. Users can click on them to listen to the content, find out more about the creator, or follow the artist or show.

Every website is different, we know that you'll want your Embed to fit in with the look and feel of your existing website or app. You can adjust the background color, height, and width of your Embed using the options in the Embed creation menu. In the case of podcast episodes, you can set a custom start point, allowing listeners to begin listening at a defined point in the show.

There are three different ways of creating Embeds:

  • Getting the HTML code directly from the Spotiy client and embedding it into your web app.

  • Using the iFrame API, to create web apps that dynamically load, play and pause Spotify podcast episodes in an Embed.

  • Using the oEmbed API, if your website handles links that have been shared by users. It's also possible to combine Embeds with other Spotify developer tools, like our Web API.

Documentation

The documentation contains different tutorials about how to create and integrate Embeds in your web app, as well as the API Reference for both oEmbed and iFrame.
